Greg Kozlick
Greg adopted Fuji, a torbie (tortoise shell + tabby) girl, from Chicagoland Animal Rescue in August 2021 when she was about 3 ½. The timing was right since his tabby boy, Nemo, had unfortunately passed away, and Greg moved to an apartment that allowed cats. Another companion of his own spoke to him when he saw Fuji nestled in her cage at CAR. After meeting with an adoption counselor, he took Fuji to her forever home!

When purr-using Facebook, Greg noticed CAR was in need of virtual volunteers and reached out. We are so thankful that he inquired, because we now have our very own photographer! In addition to photography, Greg helps with the shelter’s social media management. You may have seen his “Adopted” posters and content on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
To this day, she sits on the blanket that a crafter from Comfort for Critters lovingly donated to CAR.
Greg is a talented, friendly guy whose interest in photography began as a child when his aunt gave him a small camera. In college at Grand Valley State, Michigan, he started considering photography more seriously when he won a photo contest…using his iPhone! For almost four years now, Greg has freelanced for events like family gatherings and graduations. Last February, Downers Grove Magazine spotted an ice sculpture photo he took and invited him to be staff photographer, where he captures everything from profile photos to events. He has also become involved with its affiliates including Oak Brook Magazine.

Last December, Greg volunteered to photo shoot all four days of Pictures with Santa, one of our annual fundraisers. If we send people home with good photos of their pets, he thought, people will enjoy it and might donate a little more. He was spot on! Thanks to Greg, his fellow volunteers and generous supporters, donations soared! CAR is a 501(c)(3); each donation goes toward feeding and vetting cats in our care at the shelter and in foster homes.
